Tiny Art Director Book and Contest

W00t! We're happy to announce a nifty guest blog by Bill Zeman of Tiny Art Director (featured previously on Neatorama a while back) over at our baby and kids blog NeatoBambino, as well as a really neat contest (more on this in a bit).

But first, a bit about the Tiny Art Director. Bill Zeman is an artist and web developer who probably has the most exacting client in the world, his toddler Rosie Zeman who likes to commission - and to critique - Bill's artwork. Rosie may not know much about art, but that doesn't stop her from voicing her ever-increasing exasperation about his endeavors. His blog has just spawned a book with the same name, published by Chronicle Books.

Any artist, designer, copywriter - indeed anyone who's ever suffered the critiques of an exasperating client, or for that matter, any father who's ever tried to keep his daughter happy - will find Bill's blog and book Tiny Art Director a fun and touching read.

For NeatoBambino, Bill wrote a neat article about what he learned from teaching art class to little kids: they are truly fascinated by gruesome things.

Throughout the Tiny Art Director project, and in after-school art classes I teach, I've noticed that cute, sweet stuff like puppies, ponies, and princesses definitely has a place in kids' hearts and minds, but what really gets them interested is blood, violence, death, and of course, the awesome creatures that cause all that destruction – dinosaurs, dragons, and monsters.

But what made these little angels so bloodthirsty? Read the rest at NeatoBambino: Link
