With $70 billion in advertisements placed on television each
year, Google can easily turn a profit from getting into the TV business. Google has been meeting with many electronic and retail CEO's to work out their newest creation. Google TV shows great promise if it is as wondrous as some their other ideas. Link

I plugged in a mac mini into my LCD tv, and I watch 90% of my stuff via it. I have Netflix on demand, I got rid of cable, I use Hulu.

It's cheaper and easier.

It's just been waiting for home internet to be fast enough, and for content to be released online.

I wonder how the US cable companies will react to this. I have a feeling that throttling of bandwidth will be right behind this. Also, broadband is yet to be pervasive in the US - the US is way behind.

this looks like a product for idiots that can't set up their tv as a secondary monitor...

and a waste of money for anyone that knows how to plug in an extra cable...

Wait I don't understand... why not just plug in your TV to your computer via HDMI, VGA, DVI, etc. cables?

Then you can watch a movie OR play a game OR surf the web OR do office work on your TV, etc.
