Rogers WAS wrong in combining those bills. I lived in a rented house once that had a mother-in-law apartment behind it with no seperate address. Both tenants got their mail at the main address. Should the phone company have taken it upon themselves to combine both tenants service into one bill? Obviously not. That said, Rogers wasn’t at fault for the marriage breakup, the wife was, so no case.

It’s because of the moral and ethical knee jerk reaction most of you have just experienced that you haven’t recognized the lawsuit is in regards to a cell phone company releasing personal information without the agreement of the account holder. Lucky for you ‘sanctity-of-marriage’ types, the fact that the husband was able to pair the internet/land line with the wireless account more than likely implies that he was an authorized user on the account who could have ordered a detailed bill filled with his wifes infidelities at any time. I really can’t see how she has any viable legal recourse here. Frankly, serves her right.

This just in, local burglar sues alarm company for being caught.
In more recent events, an impaired driver caused a major accident yesterday, killing two unnamed people. Not much is known about the details, though the driver has mentioned a lawsuit to sue the automobile company for making the car involved the accident.

The two made-up examples are ridiculous, just like what this person is trying to do.

I’m on her side. Being good and being right are two different things.

I would be pissed off too if someone just assumed it was OK to consolidate my bills with someone else’s, whether or not we were married or whether I had anything to hide from that person. Rogers really screwed up and should pay for it.

Not even sure why she cares that her marriage broke up… I mean, she was having an affair. Some people are a little unclear on some things. Let’s hope the courts do the right thing here. Husb should sue her for breach of contract.

Even as a lawyer, I think this is a ridiculous lawsuit. The phone bill is not the cause of the failed marriage. The husband would not have left her due to receiving a phone bill, absent the cheating. Crap like this gives us lawyers a bad name.

In the full article the woman claims that Rogers breeched her contract and ruined her life. What about the ‘contract’ she had with her husband? That may have had a little something to do with it as well.
