Wok Robot Can Prepare Over 600 Chinese Dishes

Students from Yangzhou University and Shanghai Jiaotong University developed a robot that can prepare more than six hundred different kinds of Chinese dishes. All that’s necessary is to insert the necessary ingredients and push a few buttons. More pictures at the link.

    All that matters is whether it’s tasty. A machine can’t taste the food to make sure (this is why Bender was always poisoning people) so I doubt machines will be replacing chefs any time soon.

    It’s still neat to see what we can make robots do.

    For practice, they started with one that could make 400 types of mexican food.

    the use of only 7 ingredients greatly simplified the prototype.

    700 recipes, all of them taste the same, and all of them ended in food poisoning!

    At least that’s my experience of Chinese food…
