NASA Mission Posters

By Miss Cellania in Advertising on Mar 18, 2010 at 10:12 pm

NASA has been making posters of their missions available for years, but they were usually pretty straightforward. Then in 2008, someone got the idea to recreate a Matrix-style poster featuring the mission astronauts. Ever since then, the posters have been designed to mimic science fiction or action movie posters. Link to story. Link to poster gallery. -via Digg

I believe you intended to say that these posters are modeled on “Star Trek”, which, by the way, has been around a lot longer than “Matrix”. I really can not see how you could confuse the two.

They are modeled on all kinds of movies. The Matrix was the first of this particular series. The example shown was inspired by Star Trek. The Matrix poster came before the Trek poster (see linked story). There are others that resemble many different movies (see linked gallery).

I have never seen any of the Matrix movies, but I have been a Star Trek fan since 1966. I have no trouble distinguishing the two.
