Sea Turtle Cake

Louise Hill of Love to Cake is a London-based graphic designer and visual effects artist. That is her trade, but her passion is making fancy cakes. This sea turtle cake won her the gold medal at Britain’s 2009 Cake Show.

    Good job, nice turtle… but as an artist confessing: The sea turtle is one of the easier critters out there to sculpt. Horses and humans on the otherhand… man what a pain.

    Hi Guys,
    Thanks for your comments. If you check my website I have done a horse and a human face and you are right, they are much harder to sculpt! I about to do a cake of the 3 members of Sister Sledge from the shoulders up for 300 people, that should take me about a week!

    Wow, amazing that the scales and skin look so lifelike from what appears to be simple dark and white chocolate! Hard to decide, snuggle or eat…
