How well do you know your computers, operating systems, and peripherals? Find out with this Lunchtime Quiz at mental_floss. They’ll give you a question, and you decide whether they’re talking about an Apple computer, or an IBM clone type computer that uses Windows. Or neither. I scored 80%! Link

The eMate 300, while made/sold by Apple, was NOT a Mac. It was a Newton. A Newton is not a Mac.

The quiz is a little off, the question about hitting Shift 5 times to activate a special feature is BOTH Mac and PC, on a Mac it would turn on universal access features.

I had to recall the early Mac design language to interpret #3 correctly. I had actually read about the Pippin not that long ago. The Mac like design ones weren’t too tough to spot, and I’ve actually handled an eMate, so that one wasn’t very difficult for me. The one that got me was the Xerox mouse question. Pretty tricky that one.

prodigalsavant: First appeared in Windows, also… default mode, as Lester said.

Mac is really just a rebadged PC with a higher price tag at this point. Oh, and lots more DRM added.
