Coolest idea ever to make people more comfortable when you insist they not wear their shoes in your house. It amazes me how many people feel weird about that.

@Phos- 10 yrs ago, I moved to Eastern Europe where it is customary to wear only slippers inside a house. In fact, it’s generally rude not to. I always have my own slippers with me… I do like the idea of not wearing shoes in the house.

I always take off my shoes before going in someone’s house; I don’t wear them in mine and it would seem to me incredibly rude to go traipsing across someone else’s clean floor wearing them.
