Anderson Cooper Helps Kid During Looting

The earthquake in Haiti has had the world's attention locked on its tragic aspects, the relief efforts, and even controversy.  Now, CNN has video footage of their reporter, Anderson Cooper, stepping in to help a boy caught in the middle of a violent looting.  The narrator says it, but I'll say it, too.  Graphic footage warning.

Why was a journalist from another country the first one to help? Lets hope all those people were looting only the essentials that they needed to survive.

Head wounds bleed like mad, even a tiny little cut. It hopefully just looked much worse than it actually was, and props to Mr. Cooper for putting down the camera and helping him. So many journalists would have just stood there filming him to get their awesome shot of the day.

yeah... they probably set up a whole city that looked like it was destroyed by an earthquake and had the people act like they were starving or something too...

Honestly, when I first read this headline, I got the impression that Anderson Cooper assisted some kid in the act of looting. A.C. doesn't help steal anything at all. LAME. lol

I think its commendable that he lifted a kid out of harm's way but don't any of them carry around a basic first aid kit?
1-AC- journalist

just an observation.

Sorry to disagree but Cooper did nothing of use in the video. He saw that the camera was rolling and started to carry the kid around.

The kid could walk on his own and was helped by others in the end.

Nice to see how you all get fascinated by this journalist created story.

Personally, I think young kids should watch this video, because they're already watching Home Alone 2 where the main character throws a brick from a three-story building, hits a bad guy on the head, and nothing serious happens.

Me too. I'm somehow slightly disappointed.

I've always been curious about what foreign reporters do in these kinds of situations, when all they need to do is talk to a camera for five minutes and leave without helping. It's heartening to see big names like Anderson Cooper jumping in to help out. I have major respect for him.

AC...what a tool. staged, and you all know it. just like the aussie reporter pouring water over the kids head. journalism is dead as was witnessed by olbermanns meltdown over the Coakley-Brown senate race. i'm sure AC was teabagged soon after!

WHat a sorry assed story. With the glut of suffering in haiti, any coward can film himself a hero. Imagine I am God Anderson, and I ASK: Why did you use that helpless boy as prop to advance your career, have you no moral conscience? To Hell with you!
