We are being inundated with not only end-of-the-year lists, but also end-of-the-decade lists. It’s nice to look back at the biggest news stories, sports highlights, and the best photographs, but I prefer the offbeat lists, like these memorable mug shots. From the perspective of someone not from the US, this business of publishing mug shots of people who have been arrested but not yet convicted of anything is just unbelievably creepy. I was under the impression that one is innocent until proven guilty.

Well, innocent until proven guilty is the *aim*, and the way things are supposed to be legally, but human nature kind of thinks the other way around, it would seem. And the society and the justice systme is run by humans.
As for the pics, I think they are mostly just for people to get some lols.
