Velma

Illustration by Travis Pitts

Dr. Monster (Travis Pitts) created this illustration for his Flickr ‘Stream.  Pitts calls it “we’ve got some work to do now,” and it clearly tells a dramatic tale.  Note the R.I.P.  S+F+D (Shaggy, Fred & Daphne).  Link

    nothing hotter than a zombie-killing geeky chick

    Looks like she’s still into chicks, but now she can hold her own against the supernatural. I guess Scooby is quite capable now that Shaggy’s not smoking ganja around him anymore.

    Now that I think of it, there’s a possibility it could be habitual replacement.

    I strongly dislike Scooby-Doo in general, but I love this graphic.

    I pretty much hated scooby-doo and that era of cartoons in general.It’s only when we are older and look back we can laugh at the fact that the backgrounds looped, but it’s also kind of insulting. i have a healthy respect for the palette, design and premise though- and i tried to keep that intact in this reinvention. ;)

    Kudos Travis, and I hope your gf isn’t getting too big of an Internet-head for modeling for this. 8)

    Note the use of Freddy’s neckerchief as a bandage.

    I managed to get one of the Threadless shirts a couple of weeks ago. It gets a lot of attention.

    Is that a bite on Velma’s arm? Poor Velma…

    @Tonberry2k

    Actually his ascot was orange. I only know it’s called an ascot due to watching the Robot Chicken skit, which was pretty funny at pointing out the rediculous parts of the show.

    yeah it’s daphne’s ascot :)
    i wanted to use fred’s, but velma already has so much orange in her wardrobe….in the end i think it make’s daphne’s fate seem worse than if was fred’s too :)

    @Johnny Cat

    For giant vampires… duh.

    Dec 4th, 2009 at 8:44 am

    This is pretty cool though, it’s like the Frank Miller of Scooby Doo.

    the giant stake is sort of a nod to the grandfather’s fenceposts in LOST BOYS, except bigger.
