When I was in college and worked at a department store, we called Black Friday "black" because it was a miserable day filled with greedy miserable rude people. Everyone insists that it is called black because of the profits. Nevertheless, Black Friday has become a disgusting pseudo-holiday, where the stupidity and greed combine to trample people, spend money that one does not have, and to spit in the face of human decency.
