Too many good dogs die because someone would rather have a purebred puppy. And it’s not just “stupid people” who shouldn’t be trusted with pets to begin with– plenty of well-meaning people are fed myths that to have a well-behaved dog you *must* get it young, preferably with papers.

There is nothing wrong in my book with giving dirty looks to people who knowingly contribute to a very serious problem.

This had nothing to do with salvage. The boat’s owners were there and it was an emergency situation. Maritime law should dictate assistance not extortion.

I’m sure thee was a reason for her to drag along the puppies. Boat without an anchor could keep drifting out. And no telling who would come along and help themselves to whatever is on the boat while the owners are gone.

Can’t believe the sleazy people that came along demanding money though. Pieces of crap.

@skip I agree, if the boat was in no danger of sinking they could have waited it out a bit longer. Some people put theirselves in danger to quickly.

10k Euros is a lot of money to demand for a short tow. Then again, if the boat wasn’t about to sink I’d have just dropped anchor and rode it out or left the dogs to themselves – they’d probably be fine provided the boat didn’t founder.
