These people really need to load up the back of their Prius, and drive down the road a few hundred metres to the land-fill.

coned off driveway? just walk with your eyes open, and make driver pass for a licence. I mean they Have eyes dont they? a sign stating you scould not exceed a 5 km p/h speed while on the property would do the rest.

Yeah, well, safety is safety. There is a such thing as diminishing returns and if you tried to be 100% green the effort would probably not be worth it.

Quite common in the UK actually and I have never understood it either. All you need is some coned off pedestrian walkways to keep the two separated. Walking to the recycling centre would certainly reduce the congestion that I’ve encountered there. A crazy rule.

I think if I could walk to the center they would have a nice present on their doorstep every morning. One can at a time. And it’s good exercise.

even better: here in Austin, TX the city started a new recycling program last year- but didn’t have the proper facilities for processing. so after the recyclables are picked up, they are hauled by truck to Dallas, A 3-HOUR DRIVE AWAY. I wonder how mych we ADD to pollution every time we “recycle” something.

i have encountered this here in Stockton Ca. I was turned away because i walked to the nearest recycling center because the neighbors didnt want homeless people with their carts coming there!.

…. And While we are only still at the beginning of our car-phase, some of us already cannot immagine that moving without a car can be done without harm.
Next step will be that we will be put in a personal car-like vehicle the moment we are born, because God-Forbid that one should Walk!!!- Nonononono- Wáy Far too dangerous and energy-consuming…!
