I like it in the movies when they chamber a round into their guns about 4 times before shooting it. Also, how they can hear each other talking in low voices after shooting their guns about 50 times with no ear protection.

What a great resource, I agree! My partner is constantly describing guns in the movies we see, to the point of pausing and reversing a movie to check on details. He’s getting quite a kick out of this as we speak!

Fitting the pic is of a 1911, I’m sure that pistol and the many basic derivations of it are all over that database. Very reliable, widely produced model.

Guys like guns. Most guys never get to use them, “except for that one time, when I got to visit my uncle who lives in the country…” And they talk about it a lot.

It’s hard to get to know all the intricacies of guns, but when you see them being wielded in movies – often badly – it’s great to know what it is, why it’s right, why it’s wrong… Excellent source.

And I finish with, for all the haters: guys like guns. PC or not.
