While this may not be exactly a ‘neat’ topic, not everything on this site fits into the exact same categories. This is worthwhile to post here because it is rather unique, how many very old robbers do you know?

Someone will always be unhappy about something posted here, it’s human nature.

And yes, I have dealt with attempted robbery. I’ve been stabbed, I have had someone try to light me on fire with gas, and I have been assaulted. I have had at least 6 friends murdered, and know at least 5 women who have been raped from age 6 to 26. I have several friends who have been stabbed, shot, and beaten.

I still think this article is neat.

“Neat” does not mean “right”. The neatness of this or any post for that matter is always debatable. However, just because someone thinks a story is interesting does not mean they are endorsing what it’s about. There have been plenty of posts on this site that involved torture, serial killers, Nazis etc. Do you really think they were supporting those things?

The term “geezer bandit” isn’t ours – the FBI came up with that one.

If you want to be technical, I suppose you can call this post “AMA” because, you know, NEAT OR AMA. And when it comes to controversy, this post ain’t nothin’. Check out the Elephant Hanging one we had a while back.

I think there are two things keeping him from being caught, at least during the moment. First of course being bank tellers being trained to just cooperate with robbers. Second, he looks pretty frail and his age shows so I think people would be reluctant to hurt an old man even if in self defense and even if he is brandishing a weapon.

I know many – and this behaviour is either one which can be connected with dementia or previous learned behaviour.

Either the person cannot help it or he is a recidivist.

Either way it is reprehensible for it to be presented as ‘neat’.

What other crimes has this man committed?

If he is robbing a bank now, it is likely not his first offence – perhaps the inclusion here might enable his previous victims to recognise him.
