Have you seen this old man? He's the "Geezer Bandit," a serial bank robber than has robbed three banks so far (once while carrying an oxygen tank!):
Authorities say he walked in to a Bank of America branch in Rancho Santa Fe Monday, handed the teller a demand note, and showed a black handgun. It happened at the beginning of the business day around 10 a.m. at 17008 Avenida De Acacias. FBI agent April Langwell said investigators believe he's hit up three other banks in the last two months. He's suspected of robbing the U.S. Bank branch inside the Von's grocery store in Santee on Aug, 28.
Two weeks later, on Sept. 12, he walked in the National Bank branch in La Jolla and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. Surveillance video showed him carrying an oxygen tank with tubes running up to his nose.
Then two and a half weeks ago, on Oct. 9, he targeted another U.S. Bank inside a Von's grocery store in Carmel Valley.
How else would he make the get away?

If he is robbing a bank now, it is likely not his first offence - perhaps the inclusion here might enable his previous victims to recognise him.

I know many - and this behaviour is either one which can be connected with dementia or previous learned behaviour.
Either the person cannot help it or he is a recidivist.
Either way it is reprehensible for it to be presented as 'neat'.

I think there are two things keeping him from being caught, at least during the moment. First of course being bank tellers being trained to just cooperate with robbers. Second, he looks pretty frail and his age shows so I think people would be reluctant to hurt an old man even if in self defense and even if he is brandishing a weapon.

"Neat" does not mean "right". The neatness of this or any post for that matter is always debatable. However, just because someone thinks a story is interesting does not mean they are endorsing what it's about. There have been plenty of posts on this site that involved torture, serial killers, Nazis etc. Do you really think they were supporting those things?
And yes, I have dealt with attempted robbery. I've been stabbed, I have had someone try to light me on fire with gas, and I have been assaulted. I have had at least 6 friends murdered, and know at least 5 women who have been raped from age 6 to 26. I have several friends who have been stabbed, shot, and beaten.
I still think this article is neat.
While this may not be exactly a 'neat' topic, not everything on this site fits into the exact same categories. This is worthwhile to post here because it is rather unique, how many very old robbers do you know?
Someone will always be unhappy about something posted here, it's human nature.
