It is somewhat amazing how precisely his sketches show the world in which he lived. I have to wonder how the recipients felt or if they appreciated what they received. Currently my desktop is Starry Night. Everyone know how precise Van Gogh tended to be in his paintings but nobody knows what stars or planets he wanted to show. Not a problem whith these sketches.
