Once I was sleeping, and I could hear my cat meowing, I opened the door to let her in but she wasnt there, we ended up taking out a down light after looking all around the room and she popped her nose out... She was in the roof!!! climbed up through the hole where the range hood use to go in the kitchen. We own a 2 storey house.. it was fun tryin to get her out again!!!!! ended up dragging her out by the scruff through an old exhaust fan hole!!! The kitchen cupboard is now always left shut!! Gee they are funny little things...

This article sounds far less strange if you understand that this is probably a freezer chest, rather than a standing freezer. I can easily imagine someone opening the lid, bending down or turning around for a moment, and not seeing the cat slip in for a look.

That poor little cat. So glad he survived. Cats and kids tend to do stuff like that. You never know where you'll find them. Bet you'll be a wreck for a while trying to make sure you know where he is all the time. My little dog comes up missing now and then. I'll go out and call and call to no avail. When he finally shows up, I'm so relieved, but never figure out where he was. Sometimes I think he does the hiding just to get the added attention of being found.

One of our cats once got nailed up under the floorboards. I could hear her mewing and I walked all over Handbasket House trying to figure out where she was. I couldn't understand how I could hear her voice in every room until I figured it out, lifted a board and let her out.

My aunt's cat, Sadie, crawled into her oven after she pulled out the dinner and turned to put it on the counter. When she turned around and closed the oven door, she didn't see the black cat against the black interior of the oven. A couple of moments later when the Sadie realized what a stupid move she'd made and freaked out, my aunt rushed to pull her out and cool her down. Sadie ended up with minor burns on her paws and an aversion to the oven. (Damn cat lived over 20 years and died peacefully in her sleep)

Yes Carl, it seems implausible.

Almost as if the boyfriend had done it deliberately. Not saying he did, but he must not be very perceptive.

There are a lot of stray cats around here, and they don't seem to have much trouble with the cold during winter (and it's sometimes much below -18). There is one badass cat I welcome into my apartment once in a while (sadly, I got roommates that are allergic), he's amazing. I have not seen him in a while, but he survived at least 2 winters without a home. I hope he's still alive and well. I have never seen a stray cat that was not scared to approach people like that, when he saw me walking down the street he was literally running towards me for some petting and saw him multiple times do the same with other people (many of them seemed confused/surprised hehe). He was very calm, I've tried many times to have him play with a wool string or various toys but he couldn't be bothered at all, he just walked slowly and casually around my apartment looking for humans to pet him.

He was pretty beaten up, the tip of his ears were gone probably because of freezing and many fights, and missing some fur spots in many places. What was interesting is that he was nice to humans, but not so nice to other cats. He was on my balcony once having some milk and he saw another cat on the other side of the street.. he jumped off the balcony, ran across the street and attacked the other cat. I don't know if he was protecting his territory or something, but he kicked the other cat's ass pretty bad, it was quite violent.

It's very sad, last winter I counted at least 6 different cats that live around here that don't seem to have owners, and those cats do not let anyone get close, they just run away.

I had a cat that would jump into the refrigerator. Heard faint sound like the person in the article did and poor thing spent the whole night in there. One would think he would've been traumatized but the dern thing decided he liked it. Never could stop him from jumping in. Made for a fun prank when I had friends over. "Help yourself to drinks in the fridge!" Haha.
