Only two villains literally gave me a sick feeling in my stomach, many years ago: Laurence Olivier in Marathon Man and Mark Rydell in The Long Goodbye. Some memorable evil, cinema bastards I love to hate:
Gary Oldman in Leon/The Professional,

I mean, that was the entire point of the movie, that you can't change someone's inherent nature. He was evil through and through. The book, on the other hand, offered a more sympathetic version of Alex thanks to the excised last chapter.
