Tanks A Lot

Businesses all over look for memorable names. Many go with puns, since a funny play on words will stick in your mind. Tanks A Lot is a blog full of punny business names, like restaurants named Beau Thai, Thai Ranosaurus, Thai Foon, or Tongue Thai’d (wonder what kind of food they serve?) or eyeglass stores named Specs Appeal or You and Eye. Beauty shops have this in spades. Shears Looking at You, Curl Up & Dye, Mane Attraction, etc. Very punny. ;)

Hair dressers seem particularly prone to it, don’t they? There’s a hairdressers in Hayes, West London, called Amnesia. I’ve often wondered whether it’s an utterly bad pun that I’ve failed to get for at least a decade, or perhaps you just hope to forget their hairdos.

There is a kebab shop near where I live which used to be called ‘Bella Doner’. Someone must have pointed out to them that belladonna is in fact a deadly toxin, as it’s now just called ‘Bella Kebabs’

There’s a Ph? (pronounced “fuh”) shop in my hometown called “What the Ph?”. May it stay in business forever.
