Pandamonium: WWF Panda Reimagined by Artists

By Alex in Art on Oct 5, 2009 at 3:50 pm

(L) Frozen in Time by United Visual Artists. UVA recreates the WWF panda in ice, then allowed it to melt in their studio. (R) Surrogate, an "android" panda by Troika, symbolizes mankind’s capacity to destory nature with technology.

Last month, the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF) UK launched a project called Pandamonium, where they asked artists to "reinvent" the iconic panda logo of the organization, to be auctioned off October 12.

Various pandas are being displayed at Selfridges on London’s Oxford Street, though if you can’t make it there you can always visit WWF-UK’s Pandamonium Flickr set.

More info at WWF-UK official Pandamonium pageThanks Ross!

“What are we gonna do today Brain?”

“What we always do, create a Panda with lazer beams to obtain world domination!”

I never thought that that World Wrestling Federation’s mascost would be something like a Panda. But if it has laser beams coming out of its eyes, I can respect that.
