Incredible pictures of a hummingbird, from egg to leaving the nest. It is hard to imagine just how small they are from the pictures, so keep in mind the opening of the nest is about the size of a quarter!

this has nothing to do with this post, but does anyone know how to update the user profile image with wordpress? their support pages only show info about maintining blogs and not us regular folk that just use it to post here.

You know how we Mammals find pretty much all mammals babies cute, even the ugliest. But we don’t really think baby other-than-mammals cute (like these humming birds. Why is that? Do you think birds find their own offspring cute? They probably think mammal babies are gross.
