A Day WITH Cats: A Day Without Cats Counter Protest

Posted by Alex in Animal on September 9, 2009 at 3:24 am

Well, today is the day. A week ago, Urlesque blog dared the Interweb to ban posts about cats.

Well, that ain’t right – so us Neatorama folks decided to stage a counter protest. To restore the cosmic balance caused by the lack of posts about cats today, we will post about cats, cats, and more cats!

Here are a few from the archives of the blog to kick start the whole thing:

In my home land of South Korea a day without cats is a day without food.

Every day on the net is cat day. They're ubiquitous. A day without internet cats would be a good thing, but apparently we can't get one measly day. Sigh... (owner of 2 cats).

A day without internet cats is easy to achieve: turn off the computer.

I am cat crazy, so the more cats, the better for us all.

Hooray to cats! Who else will let us know if there is a mouse in the house?!

Does anyone know why spayed/neutered cats (and people) tend to get heavier than their unaltered counterparts?

For all of the people who are interested in the infatuation of people towards their pets...you should watch Penn and Teller' s show Bull SH # (well i cant say the name on here but you know what I mean) They do a show about Pet Love and there are some crazy stories. funny too.

I really hate this. It looks like you're doing this for the sake of being funny. But as a person who has used the internet since I was 6, I AM TIRED OF FRICKIN' CATS. I really don't want to see any more cats than I have to, the ones I stumble upon. And I would like to ask why? What is your reason for doing this? Do you really have a big affinity for cats that you must use sore humour to convey it?

I m begging to stop the cat posts, please. Cats are annoying, they shed, they're lazy, at least dogs do something. I m partial to no pet, but I can tell you that an over-abundance of any animal, makes me annoyed.

In conclusion, cats are a tired, old, ridiculous joke. Please stop.

Henry dear, if cats bother you that much, don't click the link. And if you have been using the internet since you were 6, I think it's time you took a break. It might be why you seem so tetchy.

I haven't clicked any links, it's the posts themselves. I've been with the website since it started, and I loved it, until it got caught up in all the memes.

But thanks for the sage advice, mom.

Well, well. These people should know the cat is out of the bag, and the cat cannot be put back into the bag, unless the cat chooses.

With that in mind, here is my rebuttal to "A Day Without Cats":

It's not surprising, but I hope this doesn't turn into a cat blog just because of some lame post from somewhere else.

In my home in australia, cats cause unspeakable damage to our native flora and fauna. people think cats are oh so cute and squidgy and fluffy, but they're really predatory animals using humans for their own ends. The day the web gets over the love affair with them the better!

So, Pete... you're saying that cats are like people, then?

I think it's time for the web to get over it's affair with Pete, frankly.
