Well as you know lemmings jump to their death. But the theory behind why they do that is because the island that the live on no longer has enough food to sustain them. So they go looking for food, all together all around the same time. What eventually happens is they start following each other. The lemming in the front lead the lemming in the back. But when the lemmings in the front get to a cliff, and a ledge, they can't turn around. The lemmings in the back start pushing the lemmings in the front, because they don't know there is a cliff in front of them so the push the lemmings in the front off the cliff.
