You might read about how much money a certain movie makes and gasp at the numbers. But can you name the highest-grossing movies of all time if the ticket prices are adjusted for inflation? In this mental_floss quiz, you have five minutes to name the top 15 -if you can! I only guessed ten of them. Link

They’ll have to convince me that The Dark Knight really doesn’t belong on that list. BTW, 7 out of 15 for me.

The Dark Knight is certainly one of the higher grossing movies that also completely sucked.

I quickly gave up, so, no, I can’t.

How much money a movie makes, and how good a movie is, rarely have much to do with each other. See also: Bay, Michael; Boll, Uwe…

BS. The highest-grossing movie ever was Gone with the Wind. Remember, they charged $0.25 to see it.

Gone with the Wind was on the list. That was pretty hard, actually. *spoiler* No Harry Potter, no Indiana Jones….didn’t Harrison Ford have like 6 of the top ten movies at one time?
