By Jill Harness in Art, Everything Else, Pictures on Jul 1, 2009 at 4:37 pm

This stunning castle was created by Japanese art student Wataru Itou. It took four years of dedication to bring to fruition. It is complete with electric lights and a working train. The exhibit is called “A Castle On The Ocean” and is on display in Tokyo.

omg that student does NOT need to be a student any longer………..

this is fantastic! at first i thought it was great just becuase it took 4 years and it was a paper castle, but when you look at the details you can see it took more than just being patient with paper… the design at every angle is beautiful and every part of it is interesting, and it all goes together so well. He definitely has great talent, along with motivation and patience.. it’s great. This guy would be an amazing architect too.

A student with not much of a life, it appears. Very nice work though.

Spam seeming into the comments! :O

Anyhow, amazing work. But… castles don’t have ferris wheels (excepts for ones in amusement parks).

Ok, so four wall murals from these photos and one ceiling mural from the “Beautiful ceilings” post, and I can lock the door from the inside…

This castle is very impressive. Every corners of it are amazing. Since it is made of paper, I wonder how was it made to have a strong foundation.

The castle alone is a beauty, but with added lighting it becomes more pleasing and it’s depths are more emphasized. Nice work.
