Soooooo, men are all shallow and women more broadminded? Or are men just more likely to report that they like the cultural norm? Or are women not expected to go for just one type? (Consider all the movies that have the woman going for the the nerd, the shlubby guy, the asshole turned good by her amazing and curative lurve, etc) And just what is this "seductive" thing thing referred to here? That's a pretty subjective word to use in a "scientific" study. Ya' don't suppose there was some kind of bias present in the creators of this charming bit of science do ya? I don't know about anyone else but I am tired as hell of men being portrayed as mono-dimensional meat bags ruled only by instinct and women being portrayed as erratic over-thinkers ruled only by the blowing wind. And for all the people who read the article and said "oh yes it's true, cuz that's exactly my experience" there are a bunch more saying the opposite. Pseudo science at it's most pointless.

I also think that not all men want the same thing or find the exact same things attractive. Way to insult women and call their boyfriends liars.

I've never understood why these guys that want all the really hot thin girls, aren't willing to work on an attractive "Fix-er up" chunky girl. Fat isn't permanant, and I'm sure some of those chubby chicks are just waiting for the right person to come along and motivate them to get moving and lose all that weight. Its like a Classic car that got a little abandoned, a little neglected... The right TLC could make it amazing again if someone was willing to put the time/effort in. Then again, they might get pissed if you tried to help them... Hard to say. Hmm.

Women are less reliable to express their real preferences than men I would say, and that includes the poll results.

They do have very exacting physical standards, but at the same time some women have these ideal types they make up in their heads.

Females also have much more underlying socioeconomic criteria (does he look well-off/mature/sociable) than males, who usually settle for a conventionally beautiful woman no matter if she looks rich poor etc etc.

I agree with the confidence part, even though I like shy girls. You can raise your "number" just by standing up strait, making eye contact, or holding your head up as you walk. Ive seen so many sixes that just didnt realize they were eights.

lol I think I sound pretty shallow, oh well
