"Alan" Wrench by Pete Dungey

Posted by Alex in Arts & Crafts, Gadget, Pictures on June 24, 2009 at 11:25 pm

Artist Pete Dungey did an unofficial survey to find out who is the most famous Alan (and Allen) in England … and then etched the resulting names onto a set of allen (get it?) wrenches. Here’s the project, cheekily named Alan Wrenches (links are mine):

1. Alan Titchmarsh, Horticulturalist
2. Alan Partridge, Fictional Comedian
3. Lily Allen, Pop Singer
4. Alan Shearer, Ex-Footballer
5. Alan Carr, Comedian
6. Sir Alan Sugar, Business Tycoon
7. Tim Allen, Actor

Looking thru the guys portfolio this Allen wrench thing could be the pinnacle of his artist career.

I'd have to call this both stupid and pointless. Please don't base artworks on puns.

How very deep and creative. Please take the Mona Lisa off its place of honor at the Louvre and put this insightful masterpiece there instead.

"the most famous Alan (and Allen) in England"

Woody Allen isn't there because he isn't English

Tim Allen isn't English, and he's there.

If they watched "Home Improvement", I have to imagine they've seen an episode of M*A*S*H or two... where's Alan Alda?

Yes, I was surprised to see Alan Alda missing!
