back in the 80′s Cyndi was constantly being overshadowed by Madonna which is a shame because Cyndi is the better entertainer all around.

Been a fan for over 20 years, She is amazing and my all time favourite singer, (Kate Bush being second!!).
Saw her live 2 years ago, and she was even better than I thought she would be.
I recently purchased her Shine album, and i have to say, this is now my personal favourite. Its a shame it wasnt released worldwide and not just in Japan. If you do not already have it, buy it you will not be dissapointed. You rock Cyn.xx

Her awful New York accent is almost worse than her music, and as bad as I think it is, I’m sad to say that it’s still ten times better than the Pop garbage of today. Yuk!

I’ve always liked her music but never been much of a fan of her act/weird costume thing. But I have to give her credit she definately has aged well. I would have never know it was her in the she hates goonies picture if you hadn’t told me.

She’s also the only living person to share writing credit on a Billy Joel song in his solo career, having cowritten “Code of Silence.” (The only dead person is Beethoven, whose Pathetique Sonata formed the basis of “This Night.”)

(I qualify this as “in his solo career” as I don’t know any of his material from before then–his days in either The Hassles or Attila–and it’s entirely possible that some of those songs were collaborations.)

She also guested at Roger Waters’ live Performance of “The Wall” in Berlin. Reportedly, she was surprised and modest when he asked her to participate, but she went all out in a remarkable performance.
She also minds her own beeswax and stays out of the tabloids, which is no mean feat these days.

I’ve known Cyndi since the Blue Angel days and proud to count her as one of my best friends. She is bright, talented, demanding of herself and a real stand up gal. Hulk is not her cousin, her fiance at the time, Dave Wolf, managed Capt Lou and thus the wrestling connection. Go Cyn!

I wanted to not like Cyndi, but I really dug her “Money Changes Everything” cassette when I heard it in the mid ’80s. Surprisingly good. Also Jill, you might want to change “She Hate The Goonies” to “She Hates The Goonies”.

Let me add one: She's a tough cookie. From AOL Music: Somewhere over Massachusetts is a bird that apparently doesn't care for '80s pop. At a 2004 radio concert in Mansfield, Cyndi Lauper was doused with a blob of bird poop while reaching for the high note in her classic hit 'Money Changes Everything.' The fowl fecal critique landed directly in Lauper's open mouth, but the Brooklyn-born rocker simply wiped her tongue on her sleeve and kept on singing.
