As far as I know, the jump at Vancouver 2010 is temporary. (This is because there is already a permanent jump built in Calgary so close by...)

There are SO many amazing ski jumping locations in Europe. Endleberg, Italy, Norway, Germany... Unfortunately, the sport is not as popular in North America and will soon probably die off.

This kind of reminds me of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon (if that was true) and how even ancient people at that time could build amazing contraptions (for Babylon it was the contraption to transport water from the river below up to the plants above).

THE most maddeningly cool one (I am aware of) was built on Fillmore Street in San Francisco a few years back as it heads down from Pacific heights into the Cow Hollow. The street is so steep that is was almost impossible to rollerblade up; your skates would just slip out from underneath you. I was maddeningly cool partly because I lived there but was stuck in a horrible place called "the office" down in San Jose during the event. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btz0mAN8BPs
The video doesn't even do the insanity justice.
