She worked in the reprographics department (large-scale camera and film developers, making negatives for printing projects) and was often the only one there, so we'd convene in the cool and quiet with my latest find and sample alligator, rattlesnake, what have you. Best one: musk ox. I'm also partial to the canned baby octopus I find at the 99 cent store. WHOLE, teeny tiny baby octopus. My husband leaves the room when I crack open one of those tins.
