Susan Boyle at the Semi-Final of Britain’s Got Talent

By Alex in Music on May 25, 2009 at 6:23 pm

Y’all remember Susan Boyle, the instant sensation who took the Interwebs by storm when she sang at Britain’s Got Talent.

She recently sang at the semi-final of the show – and as you can tell, she’s got herself a make-over, though the bumbling and gosh-darn qualities that endeared her to the rest of the world are still there.

If you haven’t seen it, Miss Cellania got the clip: Link [embedded YouTube]

    Hate to say it.. but I don’t really feel that this belongs on neatorama….it’s much too mainstream.

    @shopgurl I’ve never heard a larger bit of nonsense in all my life. Saying that is like saying a Van Gogh painting is just too common for the high brow.. Mozart too redundant for the serious music lover.

    Susan Boyle’s talent outshines any ‘oddball’ artistic sensibility that you think you may have developed, and gives a great bit of joy to many people the world over.. I for one appreciated seeing it!

    Thank god somebody got her to pluck her eyebrows.

    I’ve had enough of Susan Boyle. She sings nice, that’s it. I agree, its dissapointing to see this on neatorama.

    There’s an awful lot of international TV that we Yanks wouldn’t be able to see at all if it weren’t for YouTube and other online video services.

    I really don’t get the hype around this story… It just shows how shallow and stupid we all are for being so amazed at the fact that a middle-aged, ugly woman can sing. Big deal! Did it really take Susan Boyle to show us that talent comes in all shapes and sizes?? Talk about freakshow mentality.

    wow, some people …. I think she is great and if she ever come’s near the pacific north west I know I’ll go and see her, and I’m a long time rock & roll type

    This is Jack Black’s best role yet.

    No one said she wasn’t talented.
    No one said she doesn’t bring joy.

    It’s just that mainstream media covered it and covered it and covered it and covered it and covered it and… neatorama usually brings me something new and different.

    @shopgurl

    No matter where you live, you’re bound to get repeat information. That’s just how the information age works. It starts from a source and radiates outwards, and if you’re near where it started, sure, it’s going to seem like everyone around you is beating a dead horse.

    Gauldar, what does “being near where it started” means? i suppose you’re not talking about real distance, are you?

    @Kalel – subtle yet funny!

    Yeah, don’t get why she’s so “surprising”.

    The phrase “it ain’t over until the fat lady sings” has been around for many, many years, and refers specifically to the size of the stereotypical opera diva.
