Dark Roasted Blend has a photo-heavy roundup of interesting bridge construction, beginning with views of several bridges being built across huge gorges in China. The bridge shown is part of the Jinji Expressway. Also see large, artful, and scary bridges from around the world, plus links to earlier posts in the series on bridges. Link

    The photo of the old Jamestown bridge controlled demolition is very impressive.

    When I was last in China, I was struck by the fact that most drivers viewed “lane lines” as only suggestions. I wonder what it must be like to cross over one of those bridges.

    However, the pictures were awesome!

    The bridge shown is an artist’s concept drawing, but nice to see the PS police are still working.

    Those were supremely neat pics, Wow! I like the guided “missiles” used to send the cables across the valley. Awesome.

    @Johnny Cat

    That was photoshopped, they actually catapulted a guy holding the cable across the valley.

    Yeah, I think North Korea’s trying to build a bridge to the USA in the same way.
