It is a modern Batu-Sen. In the Geiso sect of the Shinto religon it is believed that a persons Fen-fu, or sould energy can be harnessed and stored in an open clear container. Ornate Glass Fen-fu containors show up at antinque shops the world over under various misnomers. To fill the container the practioner bends at the waist, holding the tube to their forhead, chanting 'Owata' and to empty it in time of need, they 'pour' the invisible contents onto their head while standing and chanting 'Goo-siam.'

It is used as a "funnel" for the Diet Coke and Mentos experiment. You put the stopper in, then the Mentos, and attach it to the top of a bottle of Diet Coke (or any other diet pop). You then pull the stopper out, and watch the reaction take place!

Its a tube in two segments, with little red pieces on the ends, and a little red rope. Also there is writing on the tube.

There are MANY thinks such an item could be used for. I guess it all depends on what that writing tells us what to think....

It is a diet Coke and mentos tube. You screw the tube on top of a 2 liter. Put the pin through the tube, add 7 mentos, put on the cap, pull the pin and watch the geyser. We got my son one for Christmas. What a hoot!

It almost looks like a fire piston but those are generally wood and thinner. I wonder what that key is for??

  44. yellowkirby
    May 16th, 2009 at 5:28 pm

It's a tube for when you mix Coke and Mentos. You screw the tube onto a bottle of Coke, then, while the pin's still in, put in some Mentos. Then you pull out the pin, dropping the Mentos into the soda. The tube helps increase the height of what's going out due to the confined space.

I should know, I have one of these!

I had a tube thing that looked similar to this - it was for growing sprouts - bean sprouts, alfalfa sprouts, etc.
