I just went to that blog. It seems cold and difficult to actually read any of the articles without having to click a bunch of times.

Plus, it’s all liberal-looking, which doesn’t appeal to me.

ya see, this is where liberals and conservatives are fundamentally different. libs love to feel “empowered” by the fantasy world of blogging, message boards and social networking and the sense that they are a “part of it” while the conservatives live in the real world of sweat, toil and taxpaying. i’m not saying all of either side are labeled as such, but the vast majority of the online community is left, the radio listeners that are out on the production floor or out on the road driving a truck are on the right. who said it? Twisting truth is only possible when there is truth, the opposite to that is faith which apparently can’t be touched. Atleast I think that is what they tell themselves.

As for paying for internship, this makes sense. It’s on the job training, with incentive to do a good job. Lots of people want the spot because “Huffington Post” on the resume is worth its weight in gold for journalism.

I think some of you are missing the point. This position was offered up as an item for a charity auction. The actions of these “Limousine liberals” are being misrepresented by those of you who choose to twist the truth.

Critical thinking is a great tool that everyone should learn. Blind liberal bashing for the sake of bashing is asinine as is conservative bashing.

This is why I didn’t get into newspapers or TV after college… standard practice in those industries is that you can’t get a job unless you intern, basically becoming an unpaid slave for a couple of years.

What kind of employees are you going to get who can afford to work free? Well-off cupcakes whose Mommys and Daddys can pay their bills for 2 years have an instant in while anyone who has to scramble to pay the rent is locked out of even getting started.

That’s why you have the type of people who dominate the press today….

That money for this particular internship is for charity – the Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights. You can still become an intern at Huffington Post the old fashioned way – through hard work and enthusiasm.
