Wow, most of you are incredibly uptight and ignorant of fetish and your missing all the fun. If “it all exists between consenting adults”. There’s the problem. You can’t tell when someone’s face is entirely covered in wool.

I think the anonymity has something to do with it. It certainly dehumanizes you. You could as easily have sex with your couch – and that could be any type of comfortable material. I remember one leather couch as soft as butter… mmm, butter.

I thought about that too, Noelegy. I would imagine that even in colder climes, that it would get uncomfortable if one even had the heating on when they encased themselves in wool. Being one of those people that hates to put on a jacket unless it’s absolutely necessary, it’s hard for me to wrap my head around this entire concept. But I agree, if no one is getting hurt and it all exists between consenting adults, I don’t think it would be fair to criticize it.

Okay… yeah. Laugh it up – but you just don’t understand. I’ve had this fetish for more than 30 years (since I was 8). I don’t hurt anyone and it’s fun – plus it makes the winter a blast! Fetishes, or whatever weird habits, are just cultures in formation.

If the article portray these people as some weird Norwegian tribes or some Siberian tradition, most people will probably like, “Aha, that’s why! Fascinating! Neat! Makes me want to knit, etc.” and then not think about it anymore.

But when the habit is anchored to fetish or sex, most people will be like, “Eww, gross, these people are sick, etc.” Makes me wonder how many people actually practice abstinence, because for the longest time I still thought virginity was a virtue, and thought anybody who watches porn (like 80% of world population) are the sickest people in the world. :p

I’ve always found fetishes fascinating, and this one is right up there! Like Evilbeagle, I’d be really curious about how these people think about their fetishes. Whatever floats your boat, as long as it’s consensual, is what I’ve always said!

I personally never have experienced my woolen clothes as itchy scratchy. I find it highly comfortable and very good in the temperature regulation- a bit cooling or at least heat-retardent in summer and warm in winter.

…But to go about like these Woolies… Nnnnnahh… This is reason to take another VERY critical look at my own woolen socks, 2 or 3 woolen sweaters and caps…
