Giant Spiders Attack Japan!

By Miss Cellania in Art on Apr 20, 2009 at 11:15 am

The city of Yokohama, Japan is welcoming two giant spiders to celebrate Expo Y150, the 150th anniversary of the port city. The spiders are the work of La Machine and Artichoke. They did The Sultan’s Elephant in 2006 and La Machine in Liverpool last year. See more pictures and a video at Pink Tentacle. Link -via Dark Roasted Blend

It is great and all, but everyone knows Japan is far more advanced in genetics than anyone else and could have easily cloned a real spider.

I’m just waiting for the little person with a short sword to run up under it and stick it in the belly… I’d hope that’s not obscure.

    @ Scooter

Would this short person by chance have a love for food, wine and merriment? And perhaps…hairy feet?

I think all those Godzilla movies have instilled fear of growing creatures much larger than themselves. But then again, that spider silk is some damn cool stuff!
