If it is a rare shark like they said, they could have done research on the shark, what it ate, what environment it lived in, and maybe found out if there were more of it around. Scientist or researches could have learned so much from this shark, dead or alive. Google it, theres more to this article. I read another article that went in depth and not just skimmed the top like this one. Another article stated that an organization actually contacted the people and asked them not to do anything with it so they can research and document it, But these people still ate it. Its so embarrassing. They did the same thing to a quail that was thought to be extinct. Smurf you are right they will eat anything there.
