Cute or Creepy?
(YouTube link)
This little guy looks like a Furby come to life! A commenter at YouTube identified this as the Spot-bellied Eagle Owl {wiki} which is native to southeast Asia. -via Arbroath
So good! that is way cute and I need at least 4 of them.
Agreed Ric. Quite cute indeed. But I'd say I'd need at least 8, train them to fight, and become a supervillain.
He's cute, but I bet he could shred your fingers if he got cranky.
Lovely eyes, but she'll never be a model with a beak like that.
Wow, those eyes are insane. Very cute though! Was loving those headrubs... so cute!
The lady in the video says:
"more?"
"Okay, that's enought."
"You want more."
in the local Malay language, she sounds very Malaysian. probably taken in KL Bird Park?
Its a furby
I'm gonna go with cute but that doesn't mean I'd want to wake up in the middle of the night with one on my chest staring me down. Remember folks, no matter how cute they are, birds are just dinosaurs in disguise. Given half a chance they'd still eat you.
Cute.
Would make a good buddy to the little elf owls at the rescue/education center down the road from me.
Very cute!
That was unreal. So cute, and I don't think I've ever seen a bird be so receptive to human touch before!
haha owl orgasm.
Lol: It's more like an owlgasm.
That's pretty cute. I like how when it closes its eyes, they look like they're still open, thanks to the white eyelids. Very neat adaptation.
o rly?
what can I say that has not been said... but man that is one cute lil owly. thanks for sharing
how can you possibly think this is creepy? that is about the cutest owl i've ever seen and its way better than the orly owl!
Both. It's uncanny how it really looks like it fully delights in being petted. OTOH, that's a sharp beak and it's most definitely not a domestic animal.
++ on J. that really made me laugh!
What an amazing bird... spooky looking, almost looks like a Jim Henson puppet with the eye-lids! Would love one as a pet
Well, isn't that the darnedest thing. It's absolutely cute as heck!
Is that a real bird? It's very cute!
"Well, isn’t that the darnedest thing. It’s absolutely cute as heck!"
methinks someone may be from minnesota!
I'd go with cute, but would hold off on a decision until I see it rip apart a small mammal.
It's amazing that it let's someone that close. And it's rather cute.
I'm going to go ahead and say 'creepy' based partly on the fact that it makes the same sound the black smoke monster from Lost does...
@ skidworth
Actually, I'm Canadian, eh! :p
He is cute, but he should be in the wild not in someones house.....
@ mytake > birs like their necks scratched because it mimics mutual preening that a mate would do.
@ Christina > I think he is at some sort of rescue place. Or an indoor environment.
Thanks Frau, that's very interesting information, I didn't know that! Anyone discovered the name of this bird btw?
Cute. Just don't feed it after midnight.
Ohmygosh... that was so cute it made my endocrine system explode!
Cuteness overload!
Don't get them wet or feed them after midnight!
Reminds me of this...
"He's got lifeless eyes. Black eyes. Like a doll's eyes. When he comes at ya, doesn't seem to be living... until he bites ya, and those black eyes roll over white..."
Okay I'm done.
@stephbot: Baahhh hahahahaha!
Waaants one!
Like the terrorbirds which some think was the top predator of his days but at least that birdie wont eat you like the terrorbird would have
