Scooter-Mounted Cannon

By John Farrier in Weapons & War on Apr 6, 2009 at 10:31 am

After World War II, the French could not afford the most sophisticated military equipment, and so improvised with what they had on hand. Hence their production of scooter-mounted 75mm recoilless rifles. Blogger James R. Rummel offers more information and photographs of this vehicle.

@Deadpan- …But what kind of English is what you wrote…? It’s hard to translate that sentence if you deliberately omitted the articles in it. In French you need at least one.

I suspect that this scooter merely transports the rider and his shoulder-fired missile. This would be consistent with possible civilian defense antitank applications discussed when the USSR was invading its allies (like the Czechs) to quell self-determination.

A more feasible bike in a war would be the Mortar-cycle from Red Alert 3: Uprising. Still need to keep it still in order to shoot!
