We're just not that much of a threat. If we become too numerous nature will just cut our numbers down with a plague, spend a couple eons recovering and then go back to normal. No matter what we think about our scientific advancement and sociological progress, this planet is both tougher and more sophisticated than we are, and it does not need us like we need it. Good animation, good thoughts, but it won’t get to that point. We’re just not that much of a threat. It makes it hard for me to see anyone who is of that opinion as a person of principle when they keep on living and consuming and making babies, all the while complaining about how horrible and evil and bad people are.
