It's not cruel. He's not trying to escape, he's just running as if he were in a ball. Mine used to do this all the time - an animal in distress would be jumping at all of the sides, rather than a futile run in one place. What a cutie!

Yes, the breathing is a bit disturbing. I know the guy is just doing that soft laugh thing, but... yeah it doesn't sound right :P
