I use the twitter fox application, so I can see the new tweets as they come in, even if I am not on twitter.com. This is a great way to see all of the information I am interested in, without spending time going to various different websites throughout the day.

I don’t use twitter to read any personal updates. I have facebook for that.

I’ve just been stuck here in the 21st century for, oh, nine years or so, trying to find my way back.

Kids these days. When I was their age, I blogged 12 miles in the snow every morning. And liked it!

And I think they’re doing it wrong. If the only thing on Twitter were people’s mundane “I’m having soup” tweets, then no one would use it. I’ve found job interviews, met friends, learned a lot about new topics and, yes, wasted some time on Twitter.

To the haters, I get it. I also don’t use a lot of social media services. But you know what? All you have to do is not use it. No one’s forcing you.

I will say I was a Twitter hater for a LONG time, but have come to somewhat understand it. I wouldn’t really say I love it or even like it, but I can use it.

I use it for business…sending out tweets about my industry and monitoring it for people looking for help with projects. So I do play the game for that aspect of it. I will add people to see what they have to say in my industry, but the second they start blathering about their breakfast, or the temperature in their office, they are gone. So you can stop that and get it to the point where it’s reasonably informative and useful.
