I didn’t think I would like the movie, but I actually ended up enjoying it. There were some really stupid scenes but for the most part it was funny. Mary Steenburgen and Richard Jenkins were great. Thanks for the trivia.

I totally lost interest about when Will Ferrel’s (fake) testicles came out. He’s one of the funniest men in movies today, but the jackass-level humor in this movie was tired and annoying.

I loved it and with two adult children living at home, I can certainly identify with it.

i just saw this the other day…. the part that made me laugh the most was at the beginning when john c. reilly and his dad are talking in the kitchen… and he was telling him about ‘what if…’ scenarios for when the step mom moves in… the busted a lung at the line that starts off…”and then she grabs my….”

I rented that movie for shits and giggles and wound up really enjoying it. That just makes me want to re-rent it now so I can watch the commentary.

I actually kind of liked the movie. For those with higher expectations, it IS a Will Ferrell movie, y’know!

I make a point of watching practically all movies till the end … no matter how painful. This movie however, I had to stop after about 30 minutes … it was just so utterly boring and stupid … not even stupid in as silly-funny way, but just stupid in a really stupid way. I don’t know what the director was thinking … he probably wanted to see, how bad and shoddy a movie can be and still be commercially successful … he was probably surprised too!

I enjoyed it. While it was supremely stupid, It was hilarious.

Not sure why you’re profiling such a recent movie. This makes Neatorama seem like a commercial.

Ted, so what’s the cut off point for recent movies? one year, two?

Count me in. Love Step Brothers! But by far the funniest moments in the film belong to Kathryn Hahn. Her character, as the sexually repressed and miserable wife to Derek, absolutely KILLED me. Can’t wait to see her in more comedic roles.

Semi-Pro is also a great movie. Watch it!

Sorry, I generally try to balance 20 proctoscope exams to every Will Ferrel movie, and haven’t quite caught up yet…

It’s not the Catalina Island Mixer, it’s the %^@&ing Catalina WINE Mixer. (partial movie quote).
