Photo Evidence of Tacky Weddings

Some of you might be familiar with Cake Wrecks, a site that mocks botched baked goods. This site is sort of like Cake Wrecks for weddings. If you think the camo tuxes are something, wait til you see the Hello Kitty dress and the gal who chose hot pants and bustiers for herself and her bridesmaids. To each his (or her) own, I guess!

Link
Photo by Stacy Reeves, obviously. I checked out her site and she actually does very lovely work; don’t hold the camo outfits against her.

A camo wedding seems pretty practical. You can reuse all of your decorations come hunting season.

I'm not from a hunting area, but I'm fascinated by those who are obsessed with it. What you're not seeing is the matching camo lingerie the brides have for the wedding night.

Which I swear, I have totally seen for sale in a Fleet Farm. ...I just about died on the spot.

I'm reminded of this wonderful piece of advice I saw when I was planning my wedding last year:

    http://offbeatbride.com/2008/07/tacky

Everything's tacky to someone, you should stop being so judgmental!

To me it looks like a load of people enjoying themselves in a harmless way. Not to my taste, but they mostly seem happy doing it. Let 'em get on with it.

I like the picture where the son`s wearing camo, and it looks like the groom is holding the kid`s severed head.
I had no idea there were so many camo weddings.

And the lingerie bridesmaids would have worked out better if they had - um - worked out themselves.

The "Camo" gear weddings for what I can only assume are hunters or war vets are TRULY universally hideous.

that site is the most beautiful train wreck ever. I been surfing it the past 20 minutes, and can't bring myself to look away.

This is crazy! I know Stacy! :) What a small world. She photographed MY wedding! She's really quite an amazing photographer!

You should probably know that those suits were made as a joke - one of the guys is a tailor and he made them to scare his wife. :)

That unfortunatly isn't the tackiest wedding on the site. Some of the others are quite frightening!! Hello Kitty and Chav weddings, oh please no!

While I did laugh at the tackiness, those people have the right to have their wedding any way they want.

Hell, that first set of pics on the blog with the fat girl and skinny guy really hit home. While we're not that ugly by any means, my boyfriend and I are...disproportionate. He's an inch shorter than me and really skinny (as in 100 lbs skinny - hey, I like small guys), and I'm 20 lbs overweight. So yes, if we ever got married, we would probably be laughed at.

Besides, I had a friend who had a wedding on Halloween, in a cemetery, with bagpipes playing funeral music. Everyone had a good laugh, had fun, and it was memorable. It was more than a party than anything; they had a nice sedated wedding for their family afterward, but it won't be remembered as fondly as their goth wedding/party.
