And I think we can stop the evil hedgehog by manipulating his swivel chair again. He is going DOWN!!

Another great use of cute animals in cell phone commercials, and possibly where Samsung adapted the idea from, is Telus (Canada). One of my favourites is the Lizard Hug from a few years back: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4OHAZ4_pRM&e

What I like about them is that they usually just use the natural behaviour and facial expressions of the animals. They're on an all-white background and the music and titles nudge the interpretation. Very cute.

They've been doing basically the same style of cute animal ad for almost a decade, but somehow manage to keep it fresh. I chose my first cell phone in 1999 partly because of their damn adorable Rebate frog (when they were Clearnet), and, uh, partly because of the actual rebate - cell phones weren't free handouts back then. I can't find that one on youtube, but the basic style hasn't changed much. The major change over the years was that Clearnet just used lizards and amphibeans, while their successor Telus expanded to all kinds of animals.
Here's some others:

Chameleons - Find Me
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cG1kGCp9MGA&feature=related

Penguin - Support our Athletes
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_oeOGuCCkE&feature=related

Fish - Across the nation
