Only in Vermont: Basketville

By Queuebot in Art, Home & Garden, Travel on Feb 18, 2009 at 6:48 pm

Basketville is like a universe peopled by baskets. It’s quintessential Vermont; all fake flowers and foodstuffs. Sip local wines as you browse the woven wonders and don’t forget to claim your free wooden spoon!

Says Travel Telegraph blog: “You don’t need to buy anything. Just look up at the ceiling and see the amazing baskets shaped like giraffes, dragons, fish, even a lobster. There are wicker unicorns, cornucopia, moose heads…I could go on.” Check out the slide show!

Now I’m burning to see ‘The Wicker Man’ again.

Or maybe ‘The Hound of the Basketville’.

KIT CLOUD- I lived about ten miles from that place growing up. The most dreaded words to hear from Mom on Saturday mornings were “Turn the cartoons off, we’re going to Basketville.” So count yourself lucky :)

I’ve been here. It’s awesome. if you’re too young for wine, they also have a great candy selection.
