Road Signs Warn of Zombies

By Queuebot in Auto & Transportation, Crime & Law on Jan 29, 2009 at 3:40 pm

Oh, great! Now there is something else out there snarling traffic on our morning commute. Ok, there aren't really Zombies on the loose. It's just some hackers having far to good of a time and commiting a little crime.

Austin drivers making their morning commute were in for a surprise when two road signs on a busy stretch of road were taken over by hackers. The signs near the intersection of Lamar and Martin Luther King boulevards usually warn drivers about upcoming construction, but Monday morning they warned of "zombies ahead."

You know, jokes like this aren’t funny.
Next time REAL zombies attack, people will just think it’s a prank.

That’s my city. Austin’s a great and weird place but I’m already way over this fad. Now that someone knows how to do it, everyone is doing it. And like aging hipster said, what about when the real zombies come?! Milla Jovovich probably won’t come, and we’ll all die. (Well, most. I’m stocked and ready)

You mean when the instructions on how to do this were posted on virtually EVERY tech blog & site known? Yeah, this isn’t that clever. Cute at best.

I’m really sick of this story being shoved down my throat again and again and again… on EVERY blog on the internet.

It was chuckle worthy weeks ago. Now it’s entering Urkel’s “Did I do that?”-level infamy in my mind.

Well, it would help if the default password wasn’t DOTS, and that you can reset the password to DOTS by pressing a few keys. I mean, seriously, who’s the idiot who made these signs…

“I’m really sick of this story being shoved down my throat”

Christ almighty, way to over-react. You don’t have to read the article, dumbass.

@ DOJ – Depends on what type of outbreak you have. If it is a “rage” outbreak, then you had better put your track shoes on. If it just your standard “reports indicate that the previously dead are coming back to life.” then you can probably keep ahead of them.
As for me – I’ll just get into makeup and blend in.

Maybe I should submit a post to the Queue about people that over-react.
