That car can be ugly as it wants to be, at least it's a nice piece of engineering. It's almost as quick as some sport bikes, and will nearly keep pace with a Nissan GT-R on the way to 60mph.

Ecocars are not a new thing, we've had them as long as we've had cars. And they used to be a lot prettier. I love cars, and it really hurts me to see just how ugly they've all gotten. As long as it's legal I will not drive a car younger than 35 years no matter how much people complain about what it's doing to the environment.

Windshield wiper fluid alone. With the millions upon millions squirting about all over the place throughout the years it makes its way into our air and water. Stuff like that is what is ugly. Tire dust. Exhaust.

Clearly ugly means new. For example the Toyota Prius, less find it as ugly as they first did.

I personally find nearly all cars ugly. Their composition is always at odd with their wheels. So odd and so injurious with their superabundance of pollutants. Yuck.

The one in that picture with Clooney looks like a stiff breeze could tip it over. It's probably got those super-heavy batteries down low to make it stable, but it sure doesn't look stable.

In all fairness to that car, most of us would look ugly standing next to George Clooney.

As long as I can travel safely with my family of four, and my parents when they come to visit, I'll be happy with whatever the Government cooks up for transportation.

Changes like these just take time to get accustom to, and it's not a bad thing that car makers are breaking away from the traditional mould of everything looking the same. I like how space is now becoming considered a lot more, getting rid of the whole "bigger is better" mindset.

man, i've been commenting a lot lately.

personally, i feel like often, radical car designs are strongly disliked by many people. i think that this area of design more than many has this problem. maybe because i am a designer, i appreciate the effort and the thought process that goes into these designs, and often like them.

in the past i have been very shocked to comment on a new interesting car design "wow that's neat" and somebody i know, who i don't think of as being very conservative will respond "yuck, that thing looks terrible"

this is probably why 99% of car models look exactly like every other banal model already in production.

certain elements do manage to change and evolve however slowly but rarely are models exciting. i am really proud of car companies who do innovate. scion has done pretty well with it's odd xa. the aztec was famously hated but rather bold in small ways.
